If working harder isn't woring...
…you may need to look at things from a new perspective.
ALDA View
Provides such a perspective.
VIEW is a one-stop, seamless set of professional services designed to help individual and organizational clients manage all types of employment-related issues.

The problem may be a learning disability – a very common and invisible disability that can hold back and frustrate both individual and organizational performance. But while learning disabilities may be invisible, their impact is very real – particularly in the world of work. Common symptoms among learning disabled individuals include:
  • Chronic, unexplained underachievement
  • Low self-esteem, depression, frustration, leading to job burnout
  • Chronic underemployment
  • Lack of success in pre-employment and vocational training programs
  • Difficulty holding down jobs
  • Not able to find or even identify a job that fits
View is for:
Community agencies and service providers that work with people with disabilities but do not have the expertise to conduct psychological/educational/vocational assessments.
Corporations, unions, businesses and institutions which have the resources to reasonably accommodate employees and members who have disabilities.
Senior students from private educational institutions who are preparing for transition to postsecondary education and/or work.
Private individuals who suspect they have a learning disability and need assistance with educational and/or employment endeavors.

Why should you care about learning disabilities?
  • Because you have probably worked with people who have one
  • Because someone who wants to work for you or is working for you...has one
  • Because your clients may have one
  • Because you might have one
  • Because you are required by law to accommodate them
How?
At the core of ALDA’s VIEW services are professional assessments and consultations provided by a team of registered psychologists. They specialize in the fields of adult learning disabilities and employment. They identify the nature and extent of learning and performance difficulties, and the role they play in current or future job performance.

ALDA then develops practical solutions and strategies that address:
  • Optimal job-person fit
  • Job redesign
  • Job accommodations
  • Performance management strategies
  • Job training
  • Training accommodations
  • Individual coping skills
  • Performance management for supervisors
VIEW helps people work with learning disabilities and also offers Presentation workshops such as “What’s it Like?”, customized training and consulting services for businesses, organizations and individuals who want to understand learning and performance problems, and make learning disabilities work for them, not against them.
