Support Group

This group is for adults who learn in a different way. They may have difficulty  with reading, writing or math. They are able to learn, but they need to be taught according to their learning styles.

This support group provides an opportunity :

  • to exchange information, experiences and coping strategies in a confidential environment.
  • to explore the different options of self-help in cooperation with professionals
  • to meet others who share similar problems

Meetings are held typically from 7pm 'til 9pm.
The AwLD Support Group has been meeting regularly and has established a reputation for being interesting for all who participate. Discussions touch upon how the  learning disabled adult’s life experience can be considered  positive, with emphasis on the “able”  part of the term “learning disabled”.

ALDA staff and others who work with learning disabled adults and have an understanding about the challenges facing them as they make important career or personal decisions, facilitate and assist at the meetings. Topics covered are always thought provoking and above all, relevant.
Hope to see you!
